PREMIX NEXT LEVEL - the next generation of solid matter feeders

Highly optimized: The new generation of PreMix® solid feeders has a lot to offer!
Solid matter feeding plays an important role in biogas plant working processes. If it does not run
smoothly or does not run at all, that has an impact on the entire plant, resulting in a decrease in
the gas yield as well as economic efficiency. In other words, reliable solid matter feeding is a must
for efficient biogas production.

PreMix from Vogelsang has a proven track record worldwide in this department. Customers are increasingly choosing PreMix when looking for a solid matter feeder that reliably feeds biogas plants with challenging solid matter, ensuring that feeding happens even under varying operating conditions. Vogelsang has further developed the proven PreMix liquid feeding system, incorporating customer feedback from countless installations. The result: the new-generation PreMix IC/ICC solid matter feeder, presented for the first time at the Biogas Convention & Trade Fair in Nuremberg in December.

Better performance, longer service life

Vogelsang is launching the new PreMix in two variants: PreMix IC (Intelligent Control), the
complete-package solution for OEMs and PreMix ICC (Intelligent Control Comfort), the fully preassembled system solution for biogas plant operators. Both models are even easier to install on-site, to integrate
into the system and to put into operation. The closed system can also be used in closed rooms. The new PreMix stands for even better performance, longer service life and lower operating costs.

Flexible adaptation:RotaCut TCX wet cutter with ACCplus

The modified PreMix is a combination of the HiCone progressive cavity pump and the RotaCut RCX
wet cutter with a new, more powerful variant of the ACCplus blade adjustment. This not only automatically adjusts the blades but also offers the flexibility to adjust the contact pressure to the respective substrates from the control room or remotely. In addition, the cutting performance of the RotaCut RCX intelligently adapts to to the actual situation. To do so, the control measures the load on the wet cutter and
regulates the speed of the RotaCut fully automatically. If less maceration performance is required, for
example during the rinsing phase or when feeding a simple substrate, the speed is reduced. This decreases the power consumption of the RotaCut and the wear of the cutting tools. This results in an increase of the service life by up to 100 percent, while also extending maintenance intervals.

Low maintenance and low wear: HiCone progressive cavity pump

Another component of the new PreMix is the HiCone progressive cavity pump. It enables precise adjustments due to the conical shape of the rotor and stator. If a gap occurs between the rotor and stator as a result of wear, this can be compensated for during operation. The rotor is adjusted axially. The progressive cavity pump is in an as-new condition once again. This ensures a constant capacity with high efficiency. The HiCone can be readjusted quickly and easily, eliminating the need for costly and time-consuming part changes. This increases the service life many times over. At the same time, it also significantly reduces the downtime needed to replace worn parts of the solid matter feeding system.

The clever adjustment system also allows the HiCone to be individually adapted to the respective
operating parameters, such as pressure and temperature, by optimally positioning the rotor and stator in
relation to each other. Because the rotor and stator are positioned relative to each other in such a way that there is minimal clamping between the two, a smaller motor is required to start the pump than in conventional progressive cavity pumps. This reduces the power requirements as well as the torque when starting up the pump to a minimum. Both increase the energy efficiency of the pump. The new-generation PreMix can also be equipped with the Debris Removal System (DRS) and the Debris Lift Unit (DLU) for automatic heavy-lift discharge and disposal. The system works self-sufficiently without staff intervention, reliably and continuously – even with challenging substrates.

Automation for efficient solid matter feeding

The standard built-in responsive ten-inch touch display and the intuitively easy-to-use visualization make
it highly convenient to operate. The machine automatically regulates itself in the optimum range to ensure efficient solid matter feeding. All of the important parameters and settings can be adjusted from the
control room or via remote control. With condition monitoring for the pump and wet cutter, users can
also keep an overview of worn parts status at all times and can plan parts replacement in advance.
Overall, the new PreMix features lower operating costs, reduced maintenance costs, lower energy
consumption and reduced personnel costs.
