Our Transportation department at Vogelsang: 30 years of innovation and success

For three decades, our traffic engineering department at Vogelsang has been shaping the future of mobility with innovative solutions and customized service.
From a four-man team to an established division
30 years ago, in 1995, the success story of our transportation department at Vogelsang began with a small team of four. What was then considered a modest beginning has since developed into an established division with over 60 employees. This continuous expansion speaks for the quality and success of our solutions.
Managing Director Michael Brinkmann emphasizes: “What began in 1995 as a four-person department has
now developed into a mainstay of our company with over 60 employees.” This steady growth underlines the importance of transport technology for Vogelsang and the industry as a whole.
Innovative solutions for bus, railway and boat
Our transportation technology department at Vogelsang offers innovative and efficient solutions for various transportation sectors, including bus, railway and boat. These include high-performance pumping solutions such as the RoadPump and PierPump, as well as the TUnit, a complete system for the supply of fresh water and the disposal of wastewater in the rail industry.
Particularly noteworthy is the RoadPump Plus, a user-friendly wastewater and fresh water supply system for buses, which won a sustainability award in 2019. This award demonstrates our commitment to developing technical solutions that are both efficient and environmentally friendly.
From the initial idea to the industry standard
Vogelsang entered the railroad industry with a spring-loaded cable retraction system for Deutsche Bahn. This initial idea developed into the TUnit, which is now a standard solution in the rail industry. This success story shows how innovative ideas can become the industry standard.
Heinz Wilken, then Head of Design at Vogelsang, explains: “Our future-oriented focus and innovative, flexible development department have made the transportation technology segment a central pillar of the company. The close dialog with customers helps us to better understand their current needs and further develop solutions in line with their requirements.”
International success and expansion
Our transportation department has made a name for itself not only in Germany, but also internationally. Our products are in use throughout Europe and sometimes even beyond. This shows that our developments also strike a chord with customers internationally.
Sales Manager Alexander Priebe emphasizes: “We recognizedearly on that we can achieve a lot with innovative ideas. Our products are now in use not only in Germany but throughout Europe, and in some cases even beyond. This shows that our developments are in keeping with customer needs internationally, too.”
Setting the course for the future
With the move to a larger production hall at the end of 2024, our transportation department has responded to the increasing order volume and specifically expanded capacity for future growth. At the same time, we are increasingly focusing on international markets such as Scandinavia, the USA and Asia.
Jewgeni Schreider, Head of Sales International Business Unit Transportation Technology, says: “We see further growth potential in the field of transportation technology in Scandinavia, the USA, and Asia in particular.” This strategic focus and the investment in regional partner structures will enable us to offer our customers an even faster service in the future.
